Connecting With The Community

  The GET empowered CDC serves as a foundation of hope, providing social and economic resources to strengthen family and enhance our community on the Hampton Roads Peninsula.  We are working many exciting projects to improve the lives of others and are proud of the progress we continue to make.  Some of the projects include our on-going food pantry, home buying assistance, summer camp, and school supplies.  Our goal is to expand the current services and reach further into needs of our communities with new projects that include health and wellness, youth counseling, and job search assistance.  The GET Empowered CDC will achieve these goals through our growing partnerships with sponsors and friends willing to support our cause and connect with the local community.

Home Buying Education and Assistance

At The GET Empowered CDC, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue.  Our Home buying education and assistance program through partnership with the Hampton Redevelopment & Housing Authority has assisted with the purchase of 10 homes by our clients

Food Pantry

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge.  Over 2000 members of our community have been served with food.  The GET Empowered CDC in partnership with Greater Emmanuel Temple C.O.G.I.C have expanded our storage capacity in an effort to increase our ability to serve more in the community during this challenging time.  Hunger is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to reach further and make a positive impact. Job Seeker Assistance

New in 2022 the GET Empowered CDC has begin to assist job seekers both with announcements via our Facebook page as well as hosting a job fair during our back-to-school event.  Stay tuned for more announcements on upcoming assistance in this area
